Published by Khara, Inc., led by Chief Director Hideaki Anno, the official Complete Records Collection series documents the production process behind the Evangelion films in extensive detail. The long-awaited volume dedicated to EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME is finally here.
The Complete Records Collection is a premium reference series designed to preserve as much production material as possible from the making of the films.
Released in 2025, the year marking the 30th anniversary of the original TV broadcast of Neon Genesis Evangelion, this Visual Story Edition was scheduled for release on March 8, the anniversary of the film’s theatrical premiere.
Following the softcover Visual Story and Production Materials editions for Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone, the corresponding editions for Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance, and the Visual Story Edition for Evangelion: 3.0 You Can (Not) Redo, this volume is the fifth softcover release in the Complete Records Collection series.
Based on the Latest “3.0+1.11” Version
This book uses materials from the latest 3.0+1.11 version of the film.
The 3.0+1.11 version incorporates further revisions beyond the 3.0+1.01 version, which itself was updated from the original 3.0+1.0 theatrical release. This edition presents cuts and complete dialogue based on that latest version, offering visuals that more closely reflect the intentions of the production staff.
The entire film is reconstructed in story order with scene images from every cut and all dialogue, allowing readers to experience the final chapter in remarkable detail.
High-Gamut Full-Color Printing
Special attention was also given to the printing process in order to reproduce the film’s high-resolution imagery as faithfully as possible.
The book uses high-gamut printing by Dai Nippon Printing, a process capable of reproducing a wider color range closer to RGB than conventional CMYK printing. This allows the vivid imagery of the 3.0+1.11 version to be presented with exceptional richness and clarity.
Special Cover & B4 Pin-Up
The cover features artwork by Atsushi Nishigori, Chief Animation Director of EVANGELION: 3.0+1.0 THRICE UPON A TIME. The illustration was originally created for the theatrical admission bonus booklet EVA-EXTRA-EXTRA.
A full-color B4 pin-up featuring the same artwork is also included.
